SAMANTHA had a rough start with her baby.
"After 3 days of extremely painful breastfeeding...I couldn’t take it anymore. Christine...showed me better breastfeeding positions for both me and my daughter. She made me feel so comfortable and was wonderful to work with. If she didn’t help me, I would’ve stopped breastfeeding completely."
ELISABETH felt "physically exhausted and emotionally overwhelmed."
"I had no idea how to do it! I also struggled with sore nipples. Being a new mom is an isolating experience but working through the challenges along with other women in your situation is so rewarding. Small successes with breastfeeding made me much more confident. Christine was a wonderful support and the sweetest cheerleader ever!"
When I asked her how she felt after overcoming her breastfeeding challenges, she replied, "Like a rockstar!"
KARA had trouble getting her son to latch correctly.
In the midst of it all, she felt "exhausted, frustrated, and wanting to give up nursing." But Kara didn't give up. She took that step, reached out for help, and discovered ways to make breastfeeding a better experience. As a result, she became "confident that I [could] keep nursing my son until we were ready to end his breastfeeding journey."
CARRIE, an experienced breastfeeder, was caught off guard when her baby arrived early with medical complications.
"Christine Roca, IBCLC was an amazing support to me in the breastfeeding journey with my third baby who decided to come early at 36 weeks and had a short five day NICU stay. Even though he had difficulty latching and nursing the first month and a half, I pumped and gave him breastmilk by bottle so he never had to have a drop of formula, even in the NICU. Without her help during those first 36 hours, I don't think we would be where we are today - a happily breastfeeding dyad. She kept reminding me that my goal was breastfeeding and by two+ months, all feedings are now at the breast. Thank you Christine!"
AMANDA struggled with latching her baby on and finding a comfortable position to nurse in.
As she tried to figure it out on her own, she felt "drained, defeated and hopeless." I guided Amanda through her specific issues until she was comfortable latching her baby. How does she describe her experience? "Amazing! So thankful....we rocked 2.5 years of breastfeeding!!!!"
