Sometimes breastfeeding sucks. There, I said it.
After all, if it was always easy and effortless, you wouldn't be here looking for a lactation consultant.
So let's cut to the chase. If breastfeeding, chestfeeding, or pumping isn't quite what you imagined it would be, I can help.
Most lactation consults will be scheduled at our Orefield location. Enjoy a relaxing scenic drive to our quiet office, where we see only lactation clients. No need to worry about exposing your baby to sick children in a waiting room.
If your visits are covered by insurance, you will have NO out-of-pocket costs when you come to our office.
No need to pack a diaper bag, let the dog out, fumble with the car seat...heck, you don't even have to get dressed! And don't you dare worry about cleaning your home!
Instead, you get to stay comfy in your own surroundings and try out different feeding positions on your own furniture.
Home visits are reserved for babies under 4 weeks of age or for extenuating circumstances. A small convenience fee applies with additional travel fee for locations beyond Lehigh County, PA.
If you live beyond the Lehigh Valley, but still want to work with me, then telehealth is your friend!
You get all the joys of staying at home with just some technology between us. Obviously, there are some limits to what we can do virtually, but most lactation issues can be addressed during this consult.
Got insurance?
Through a partnership with The Lactation Network, I can provide lactation services with NO out-of-pocket costs if you have participating plans, such as BCBS PPO and Cigna PPO. Click the button below to see if you're eligible.
Not sure if you need a full consult yet?
I hear ya.
Lots of breastfeeding issues resolve with time and practice, and it's ok to try and figure things out on your own first.
But once you're experiencing any of these "red flag" symptoms, you need to call in an expert -- the sooner, the better.
Waiting will only make the problem worse and the solution more complicated.
Don't have any of those red flags, but things still aren't working quite right?
You can DIY it with assistance from something like the Breastfeeding Fix-It Guide. This is a step-by-step troubleshooting manual modeled after, yes, appliance manuals. I know, I know...humans aren't machines. But when they're not working like they're supposed to, you want clear answers fast. "If you see this symptom --- then try this trick to fix it." Simple, right?
